First public edition of the salon designed in 1971 for the private apartments of Claude and Georges Pompidou at the Palais de l'Élysée, Pumpkin is characteristic of the revolutionary style of Pierre Paulin that he initiated in the late 1950s. Its structure evokes a giant pumpkin that offers a protective and voluptuous shell to its user.
