Gae Aulenti

Italy (1927-2012)

A pioneer in the field of design, Gae Aulenti has become an internationally renowned designer, architect and theorist. Gae Aulenti graduated in architecture in 1954 at the Polytechnic of Milan and is known for the development of the Orsay Museum in Paris and the Centre de culture Georges Pompidou in the 1980s, which earned her the Legion of Honour, awarded by François Mitterrand in 1987. We also owe her some emblematic pieces such as the famous «Pipistrello» lamp for martinelli Luce, the «Tavolo con ruote» roulette table for Fontana Arte or his Mezzoracolo lamp, designed for Artemide.
